Swivel Sweeper G2 Reviews welcomes you with a warm Aloha.  It’s in the Hawaiian neighborly spirit of sharing  that this review is written.user of swivel sweeper g2

Let me start with a confession.  I didn’t think I needed a Swivel Sweeper.  I found it one day among a long list of things for sale:  it jumped out at me as if saying don’t you wish you had me?  And I found myself saying Yes! But your situation must be different if you’re on this page.  You know something about the Swivel Sweeper G2 but you still have some questions.  Hopefully in the paragraphs below I’ll provide some answers for you, such as what’s so great about it?  Are there better cordless sweepers? Where can I get the best deal?

What’s so great about it?  For quick clean-ups the Swivel Sweeper G2 is wonderful

If you haven’t had a cordless sweeper before then you’re in for a treat.  Not having to lug out a regular vacuum from wherever it’s stored to do a quick clean up is a real pleasure.  And you who have small children and pets would love how easy it is to take care of  the frequent bits of food and stuff under the dining/kitchen table or outside food bowls and litter boxes.  Not to mention the feathers, hair or fur over all the floors.

What’s special about the Swivel Sweeper compared to all other cordless sweepers?

For one thing, it’s the lightest of them all, weighing a mere 2 pounds.  Other comparable sweepers weigh twice as much and more.  This means that parents and friends who are senior and those less physically able can clean their floors easily by themselves.  One such customer says:

“I have a very bad back and this sweeper is so light weight and with the ability to swivel, it really helps with dust bunnies, dust, or anything else on the floor.”

The Swivel Sweeper G2 was designed to be highly maneuverable and efficient.  Super-gliders permit easy sweeping from carpet to floor to tile to throw rugs.  Its 360 degree swivel means it can do tight turns around table and chair legs without having to move furniture.  The small and narrow collection tray allows you to get into tight passages.  Then there is the important quad-brush technology that has the Swivel Sweeper G2 powerfully picking up dirt and debris on all four sides as well as over carpets.  You can probably dance very gracefully using it as a partner.  It doesn’t feel like work at all so why not?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention the new improvement of a collapsible handle that allows you to clean under beds and sofa without having to bend over.  And also the dirt tray that empties easily into the trash can (it always surprises me to see how much the Swivel Sweeper picks up).

Aren’t you curious enough right now to see one?  Click here to see one in action.

Who NEEDS a Swivel Sweeper?  I do, now that I have one.

In reading many customer reviews I’ve compiled a list of people who probably need a Swivel Sweeper G2

  • Those who don’t have a regular vacuum handy such as students in dorms; people in RVs; those who don’t have an electric outlet in detached studios or offices. ”I purchased this product for my daughter to use in her college dorm room.  It was compact and durable.  After several uses she says the Swivel Sweeper is easy, fun, and just what it takes to keep her room clean.  Great product!”
  • Owners of theatres, restaurants, offices, library—wherever there is people traffic and a need for a quick quiet cleanup. “I work as a janitor in a five-story condo complex containing 84 units; I use this sweeper daily during my normal cleaning duties.  It works perfectly for quick cleaning of the lobby tile and elevators; where it excels is in cleaning the stairwells!
  • School teachers where students would fight for the privilege of using the Swivel Sweeper
  • Pet owners, of course, who constantly deal with the mess pets create (you love the animals but how can you love their mess?). “I have cats and 3 new carpets that are low weave and shed (both cats and carpets).  This little sweeper is really amazing.  Even though it isn’t a vacuum, it picks up so much cat hair and it also picks up the shedding carpet.  I also have a bird and it picks up all the seeds that she drops.”

What are you waiting for?  It’s only $20 or $40 (for the Elite) and you get a guarantee.  Say Yes to the Swivel Sweeper.

If you are a thorough shopper you may be curious about competing cordless sweepers

In my research on the Swivel Sweeper G2 I checked out at least six other competitors including stick-vacs such as the Swiffer Vac as well as others including the Dirt Devil, Bissell, Oreck, Shark, Scotch and Eureka .  According to the Amazon average ratings, many of the competitors rate better than the Swivel Sweeper.  However, I don’t think that others can claim that over 10 million have been sold as the Swivel Sweeper can.  It’s been around for a few years as some repeat customers can confirm.

Having looked at the competing brands and read many customer reviews of each of these cordless sweepers I honestly would still choose the Swivel Sweeper G2 over any of them.  Why?  It simply does more than the others as I described above.  The others are bulky…and boring. You can check out my reviews in my other posts listed below.

Swivel Sweeper G2 is risk-free with 30-day or 60-day guarantee

If you purchase a Swivel Sweeper G2 you get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.  Some describe this as a ”free trial for 30 days”.  However you look at it, it makes your purchase risk-free if once you purchase and try it it’s not what you expected.  I believe in giving promising products a try when I have a satisfaction guarantee.  Perhaps you do too.

And if you purchase the Elite model that has a more powerful longer lasting battery, you get a 60-day guarantee– a “free trial” for 60 days.  You can learn a lot about your Swivel Sweeper in 60 days.  My guess is that you’ll totally forget about the time in your enjoyment of your Swivel Sweeper G2.

So what is the best deal on a Swivel Sweeper G2?

Here’s the honest truth:  you can buy from anyone, the company itself online through its website or any other websites reviewing the Swivel Sweeper G2 like this one for essentially the same price.  The current best deal is a two-for-one offer so make sure you have someone to join you or have someone in mind that you want to gift. Swivel Sweeper and other Cordless Sweepers

by admin on March 1, 2012

Swivel Sweeper G2 Reviews moves to its third comparison of competitor sweepers. Today I’m comparing the Swivel Sweeper G2 with a Bissell Perfect Sweeper and a Eureka cordless in terms of features, power, maneuverability, price and customer reports/complaints.

How customers rate these sweepers:

Amazon customer reviews indicate that though the Swivel Sweeper G2 seems to outsell the others, ratings favor the Bisell Perfect Sweeper with 4.5/5 stars (152 reviews), followed by the Eureka Quick Up with 4/5 stars (109 reviews) and the Swivel Sweeper with 3.5/5 (270 reviews).

Many customers express great appreciation for the benefits of a cordless sweeper, especially the ease of use.  Compared to a broom or a regular vacuum, such sweepers are efficient and almost effortless to put into use.  Unlike a broom, they clean floors that are carpeted or not and handle stairs as well as throw rugs.  So for general quick cleanups, they can be used several times a day, especially since they are small enough to store just about anywhere.  Happy Swivel Sweeper G2  customer reviews can be found in other posts.  Here are some from the other two cordless sweepers.

Customers write about the Bissell:

  • ” This little Bissell is mighty. I have 2 dogs that leave crumbs and hair on the carpet. This perfect cordless machine picks it all up. Love it, makes life easy.”
  • “It’s perfect for those light cleanings between the heavy vacuum cleaning sessions. We use it in our kitchen, family room, bathroom, stairs.”

Similar reviews about the Eureka:

  • “I recently purchased this little vacuum and am delighted with it. It is great for cleaning up grass and cat hair from carpet, as well as dirt on hardwood and vinyl floors.”
  • “This is the most awesome appliance. It cleans carpets, tile, and hardwood floor with ease. I bought one a few years ago that finally died and this model is even better.”

Weight comparison:  Swivel Sweeper G2 is the lightest

The Bissell and the Eureka cordless sweepers both weight 4 pounds.  The Swivel Sweeper is half that much at 2 lbs.  If weight isn’t an issue, obviously, any of these would do.  However, for the physically less-abled and for seniors the very light Swivel Sweeper is very attractive.  Because the Bissell is a cordless vacuum its weight is probably because of this feature.

Features, power and maneuverability

Some cordless sweepers are also stick vacs, and such is the case with the Bissell Perfect Sweeper.  These presumably have more power than sweepers that have motorized brush systems.  The Bissell has suction to draw up debris and dirt from most floor surfaces.  In addition, you can remove the handle and have a hand-held unit for cleaning other surfaces such as sofas.  (The Elite model of the Swivel Sweeper comes with a small ‘sweeper’ you hold in your hand that does a remarkable job of cleaning.)

As described above, each of these sweepers can move from wooden and tile floors to low-pile carpets and rugs.  And because of their small size and lightness, they can be used to clean carpeted or uncarpeted floor with ease.  Customers report how appreciative they are of the job they do in cleaning up after pets and little children.

Both the Bissell and Eureka units are a big more rigid than the Swivel Sweeper.  What this means is that it takes a bit more effort to use them than a sweeper that is built to swivel around table and chair legs with ease and to go under furniture without stooping.  The Bissell and the Swivel Sweeper both have side brushes that move dirt and debris into the dirt tray for efficient sweeping especially along floor edges and corners.

Customer complaints:

If you read enough customer reports of various products, you soon realize that no matter what the product, many customers who write reviews are very happy and there are a few that seem to have gotten lemons.   The most common complaints:  the Eureka’s power and performance becoming less and less; or just plain dying with a few weeks/months/year.  More than a few customers complained about the Bissell’s dirty tray’s design that make it difficult to empty and clean, and also how their units stopped working.

Price comparison:

Current Amazon prices for these units:  $38.20 for the Bissell; $34.50 for the Eureka; and $25.15 for the regular Swivel Sweeper G2.

Considerations before buying a cordless sweeper:

  • Be clear about your need for a vacuum sweeper versus a motorized brush sweeper.  Most stick vacs allow you to detach the vacuum unit for hand-held cleaning.  However, this means usually means a heavier and bulkier tool.  Because they are battery-operated their suction is not as powerful when compared to regular vacuums.
  • Assess your need for lightness and maneuverability.  Many units don’t swivel so that means twisting or turning the sweeper so more physical effort is required.  Some units weight twice as much and more than the very lightest, the Swivel Sweeper G2.
  • If you haven’t had a cordless sweeper before you’ll probably be very happy with a purchase of one.  You’ll wonder how you ever did without the convenience and ease of use of a cordless sweeper.

When you read my original posts of my Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews, you’ll learn the features that make it a good choice.  Remember it comes with a 30-day-satisfaction guarantee and a 60-day one if you purchase the more powerful Elite model for $20 more.

Swivel Sweeper G2 and two rivals

by admin on January 23, 2012

swivel sweeper g2 userAloha.  With this post I move into my Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews a bit more.

This is second in my series of comparing two other cordless sweepers, in this case, an Electrolux and a Dirt Devil model with the Swivel  Sweeper G2.  In the following review I compare the features of these three sweepers including the pros and cons as reported  through customer reviews on Amazon.com.  In general, both these cordless sweepers had average ratings higher than the Swivel Sweeper G2  (3 out of 5 with 470 reviews):  the Electrolux 4.3 out of 5 stars (260 reviews) and the Dirt Devil Accucharge, 4 out 5 stars (150 reviews).

Some may consider this comparison unfair because the Swivel Sweeper G2 is not a vac but rather has a motorized brush technology that sweeps debris into the collection unit. These other two are cordless vacs that are battery powered like the Swivel Sweeper.  Nonetheless, when you are thinking about buying a cordless sweeper, these three may be worth comparing.

Customers like easy quick cleanup

In reading the reviews each of these cordless sweepers seem to do a good quick and easy cleanup job.  Users of these stick vacs generally report that the suction is satisfactory for quick cleanups.  Though the Swivel Sweeper doesn’t have suction, in my experience it also does a good job of sweeping up a variety of debris, in my experience as fine as flour as well as cereal or dog food or little sticks. But if it’s a small light vacuum you’re looking for, the Swivel Sweeper G2 isn’t one.

Again those who are very positive about these cordless sweepers appreciate the ease of use of something cordless and light compared to a regular vacuum.  While these cordless sweepers were not designed to replace a regular vacuum it is also clear that they clean well enough that frequent thorough cleaning with a regular vacuum is not needed.  There is no question that these cordless sweepers are more convenient to use and much lighter and less cumbersome to manage.

Comparing features such as weight and maneuverability

In comparing the weight of these three, clearly the Swivel Sweeper is the lightest so if someone prefers less weight, the Swivel Sweeper is the clear winner.  Also in terms of maneuverability, the Swivel Sweeper has excellent benefits of fitting into narrow passages, up close to walls, around chair legs, sweeping in on all four sides, going under furniture easily and easy storage.

Battery concerns

Again the matter of battery charge and how long a charge takes and lasts is frequently discussed by customers.  Again, it is unclear what is optimal battery care for each model , however, each probably comes with precise details about it..   Nonetheless, reviews vary in terms of how long a charge each holds.  There are more reports of being able to use the cordless vac sweeper for a few minutes or 10 minutes or not completing the job than with the Swivel Sweeper.  And that makes sense since a vacuum uses more power.

The Electrolux apparently came with two batteries in earlier models but this is not longer true.  Dirt Devil has a “smart” battery that indicates when it’s sufficiently charged.  Since the Swivel Sweeper isn’t a vac, its battery lasts longer from 30 to 45 minutes on one full charge.

Price comparison

Currently these are the prices found on Amazon.com

Swivel Sweeper G2:  $26.49

Electrolux:  $38.98

Dirt Devil Accucharge:  $59.98

If you choose to buy a Swivel Sweeper G2, I would recommend an upgrade to the Elite model that is more powerful and holds a longer battery charge.  Then the price would be $39.99, making it comparable to the Electrolux. For more general comparison, read this post.  To learn how the Swivel Sweeper compares with two other cordless sweepers, read this.

Swivel Sweeper G2 compared with Competitors

by admin on December 27, 2011

swivel sweeper g2 owner Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews  moves into a series of posts comparing the Swivel Sweeper G2 with similar products, such as the Swiffer Vacuum and the Shark cordless floor and carpet sweeper.  These three leaning tools are similar and are within the same price range so it you’re looking for a cordless sweeper it would be natural to compare them.  Besides looking at the features of each, I read many Amazon customer views to get users’ experience of these cordless floor cleaners.  Look below for customer reviews, issues about the battery, comparisons in terms of weight, maneuverability and price.

Customer reviews

In general reviews of these three cordless sweepers are similar in customers appreciation of how quickly and easily they work for frequent cleanups compared to a broom or a regular vacuum.  These obviously do more than a simple broom and are easier and lighter to handle than a regular vacuum.  Many write about what relief they have from being able to clean up after children and pets so easily.  Clearly for people who haven’t had the convenience of having such a cordless sweeper their reports are very positive.

The overall Amazon customer reviews indicate that the Swiffer has the highest rating of 4 out of 5 stars with the Shark and the Swivel Sweeper G2 tied at 3.5 out of 5 stars.  The shark has fewer reviews (less than 100) than the other two (between 300 and 400).

Customer complaints about the battery

The most frequent complaints common to the three products are about the battery.  This is especially true of the Swiffer Vac.  Initial excitement is replaced by disappointment as the power of the vacuum decreases over time because it is repeatedly re-charged.  With all of these batteries it’s very clear and very important that the instructions for charging are followed exactly.  This includes the time required for the first charge and then subsequent charges. If the battery isn’t discharged completely before being re-charged, battery memory is adversely affected.  Some customers report following instructions to the letter but still having weaker power and being able to use the sweeper for shorter times.

According to one “very helpful”customer review, the initial charging for the Swiffer is unusually long and the charge is used up pretty quickly.  Since this is the sweeper unit requiring the most power, it makes sense that it would need more energy and use it up more quickly.

In the main, I would like to believe that those who follow battery instructions carefully will have a satisfactory experience with the sweeper.  But you do need to pay attention and not be casual about it.  For example, I make sure that the battery is completely discharged on my Swivel Sweeper G2 before I re-charge.  In other words, when the sweeper is running more slowly I keep it running until it stops, then re-charge.

If weight is a factor

These cordless sweepers are basically lighter than most sweepers, vacuum or not.  However, the lightest is the Swivel Sweeper at 2 lbs., and the Swiffer Vac is about 3.3 lbs. and the Shark about 4 lbs.  For those less able to handle something heavier, these sweepers provide a definite advantage.

Maneuverability

The Shark cordless floor and carpet sweeper has the largest floor unit, 11 x 14, so it covers a wider area in one sweep than the other two.  Both the Shark and the Swiffer are rather rigid in that you clean by moving the unit back and forth.  So in terms of maneuverability the Swivel Sweeper is the best in its capacity to move through narrow passages (not having to lift chairs, for example) and swivel around.  Also the Swivel Sweeper quad-brush technology means that it sweeps in debris from all four sides rather than by only front and back brushes.

Both the Shark and the Swivel Sweeper G2 have a backsaver handle that permits the sweeper to get underneath furniture without much bending of the back.

Extra supplies

The Shark and the Swivel Sweeper are complete in themselves.  The Swiffer Vac has the cloth feature like the regular Swiffer and also a filter  for the vacuum unit.  These need to be replaced monthly and are purchased two in a box for approximately $10. The replacement cloths are available many to a box and are less expensive.

Price Comparison

The Shark cordless is the most expensive, currently $47.99 on Amazon.  The Swiffer Vac is currently about $37, and the Swivel Sweeper, about $31 for the regular model.  The Swivel Sweeper Elite, more powerful, is about $41.

If you decide that the Swivel Sweeper G2 is your choice, you can get the current best deal by clicking here for a two-for-one offer.

Reasons not to buy a Swivel Sweeper G2

by admin on December 10, 2011

swivel sweeper user Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews after many months of writing and reviewing now moves into discussing the reasons why you may not want to buy a swivel sweeper.

Swivel Sweeper G2 and other cordless sweeper aren’t  a substitute for a regular vacuum

A regular vacuum cleaner operates by creating a vacuum that allows you to “suck” to clean somewhat deeply, depending on what machine you have.  Uprights are more powerful generally than canister models.  It’s especially important, I’m told, to use a vacuum for deep cleaning of carpets because if you don’t, the accumulating “dirt” damages the carpet.  For most homes, then, a regular vacuum is necessary.  So if you’re looking for something that cleans thoroughly, a cordless sweeper is the wrong product.  The Swivel Sweeper G2 is for quick  tidying.

The Swivel Sweeper G2 is also not a vacuum sweeper

In the category of cordless sweepers there are ones with a vacuum function.  I’ve discussed some in another post. The Swivel Sweeper G2, however, does not vacuum.  It has a quad-brush technology with a motor that enhances debris collection instead.  Although it doesn’t have the suction that vacuum supplies, it’s amazingly efficient in picking up “stuff,” which you learn when you empty the tray.

This Swivel Sweeper requires gentle handling

If you’re the kind of person who loves heavy-duty equipment to push around, the Swivel Sweeper G2 is not for you.  Its light weight and the materials it’s made of require respectful handling.  A lot of energy to “sweep” with it is not required.  In fact actually pushing it with a lot of speed and vigor can cause the sweeper unit to over-turn and whatever debris you’re collected comes flying out.  Happily, you just flip the unit back and sweep over what just flew out; error corrected.

You need to care about how your floors look

Either you or someone in your household needs to care enough about how your floors look otherwise your sweeper won’t be used.  In other words, if you can live with disorder and debris because you don’t care or you don’t see that things aren’t tidy, you don’t need something that quickly cleans your floors.  The Swivel Sweeper is best and often used in household where someone cares about order and cleanliness.

The Swivel Sweeper G2′s motor makes some noise

Some customers complain about the noise of the swivel sweeper.  They report that it’s “loud.”  However, compared to a regular vacuum the noise is much much less. Yet it’s not silent and does make a noise.  So if you’re looking for something very quiet, a cordless sweeper with a motor is not your best choice.  Perhaps, a broom?

You can’t be careless about battery care

One of the most frequent customer complains about the Swivel Sweeper is about the battery charge.  For example, people complain that after a while the battery won’t hold a charge for more than five minutes.  In order to get the most battery life out of any battery, I’ve learned that you need to pay attention to what is required to keep it functioning for a long time.  Such as, there is a certain length of time to charge it.  And you don’t charge your battery all the time; it needs to discharge.

Whatever the requirements are, it’s important to pay heed otherwise you may run into battery trouble.  The Swivel Sweeper requires a battery to run its motorized brush system.  If you’re going to be careless about battery care, any battery-run product is not for you.

You need to be watchful about the satisfaction guarantee

The regular swivel sweeper has a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.  The Elite model comes with a 60-day guarantee.  I’d pay attention to how the sweeper works during this time to make sure that I’m satisfied.  Dissatisfied customers have complained about how after the guarantee period is over, the company won’t do what they want.  So if for whatever reason you can’t or won’t pay attention to this period and you’re unsure about your purchase, you should know that you run a risk of not using your guarantee.

Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews recommends:

Customers buy the Swivel Sweeper for these reasons:

  • Light weight, only 2 pounds
  • Highly maneuverable as it swivels, glides and sweeps with its quad-brush technology
  • Narrow and small enough to clean in tight places and close to walls
  • Cleans under furniture and around chair legs without having to move or lift furniture
  • Works on most floors, area rugs, stairs; not recommended for high-pile carpets

If this is what you’re looking for,  the current best deal on a Swivel Sweeper G2 is found by clicking here.  Remember it’s a two-for-one offer so get someone to join you.  In the process of purchasing, you’ll be asked about an upgrade to the Elite model which is $20 more because of its more powerful motor and battery.  Be prepared to make choices.

A Swivel Sweeper: Gift for any season

by admin on December 2, 2011

swivel sweeper gift-giverAloha.  In the Islands, gift giving is constant so it’s appropriate that I talk about it in my Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews.

Shopping for holiday or gifts for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, retirement, Valentine’s Day) becomes an important preoccupation for many as the special date approaches.  People have different attitudes about gift choices:  some want to make it personal and special to each person while others like to buy more impersonal items that can be enjoyed by many.

Unless you’re a frequent shopper and talk about recent purchases you may not be aware of some new gift ideas that are available.  Here is something for the holidays as well as any time of year that falls into both categories described above:  special yet “impersonal”– a Swivel Sweeper G2.  Whenever I describe its features to friends, most say:  “I want one.”  You may surprise someone with a perfect gift they didn’t know they wanted.

When light weight matters Swivel Sweeper is tops

An important consideration in choosing a cordless sweeper is its weight. The lightest is the Swivel Sweeper at 2 pounds compared to the heaviest at about 5.6 pounds.  To most people,  the difference probably wouldn’t matter.  However, for seniors and those with back and joint challenges, the weight of of the sweeper is very important.  Of course, when you compare the weight of a cordless sweeper to a regular vacuum, the difference is a relief.  Compared to an upright vacuum, using such sweepers is so easy you’d more likely to want to use it.  Is anyone on your list having problems from arthritis, bursitis, back pain, lacking energy or moving slowly?

Narrow and small size of the Swivel Sweeper is an advantage

Cordless sweepers vary in their maneuverability that is obvious if you look at the design of each model.  If you want a more efficient sweeper than a broom, a sweeper takes less effort and collects the debris as you move it back and forth.  Some have a wider sweeper which means more area is covered in fewer sweepers. But the width also means that furniture may need to be moved or lifted.  Here is where the Swivel Sweeper‘s unique small size sweeper comes in handy.  Not only does it move through narrow spaces such as between chair legs but maneuverability is achieved by swiveling and sweeping bits of stuff from all four sides. No matter which way you move it, it’s cleaning.

And storing the Swivel Sweeper?

If you live in a home with lots of space, storage of most things isn’t much of an issue.  But it is a concern in homes with not enough space especially closet space.  Where is you regular vacuum stored?  How handy is it to areas that need frequent cleaning?  Regular vacuum cleaners and cordless sweepers that are rigid or have removable vacuum units require more space.  In contrast, nothing is more conveniently stored than the Swivel Sweeper.  It folds up to be thinner than a broom which means it can go just about anywhere.

Others on your gift list may include the following:

  • College students living in dorms or apartments.  If there is a regular vacuum somewhere, I bet it’s not frequently found or used.  Whereas, a cordless sweeper in a student’s own room is handy for use anytime.
  • Grade school teachers who don’t have daily cleaning of their classrooms would probaby love a cordless sweeper.  Children, children going in and out of the room, and children doing projects add up to stuff on the floor.  And children love using a swivel sweeper.
  • Aging parents who aren’t able-bodied enough to use a regular vacuum would probably love the independence and efficiency of using a swivel sweeper to clean up whenever it’s needed. Or even if they are able, they’d just love the convenience of a quick and easy cleanup.
  • The less able-bodied who have limited energy (sometimes people with multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue for example), chronic pain in their back, muscles or joints would welcome the light weight and maneuverability of a swivel sweeper.
  • People who own campers and RVs could use a cordless sweeper because they won’t need an electrical outlet, and the compactness and efficiency complement a campers’ lifestyle.
  • Pet owners constantly deal with bits of pet food scattered on the floor, shavings or cat litter thrown out of boxes or cages, feathers or fur found everywhere.  Many pet owners can’t do without their swivel sweeper.
  • Families with small children who always have bits of food under chairs and tables after meals.  Everyone, moving in and out of the house can track in stuff that needs to be cleaned up. Yes, families with children definitely find a cordless sweeper a Godsend.

Swivel Sweepers and Its Rivals

by admin on November 16, 2011

swivel sweeper userALOHA.  It’s been three months since I started research to create Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews I’ve found more cordless sweeper alternatives since that time.  In this post, I compare competing options to the Swivel Sweeper including brands such as Dirt Devil, Bissell, Oreck, Shark, Scotch, Swiffer and Hoover.  These will be covered in terms of weight, maneuverability, use on carpeting and bare floors, battery charge life, whether they are vacuums ornot, motorized or not, and prices found online.

Cordless sweepers can be a vacuum or not

Remember that the Swivel Sweeper G2 is not a vacuum.  It doesn’t have an electric motor that creates a vacuum that “sucks” debris into it.  However, the Oreck Speed Sweep, the Dirt Devil Quick Flex, the Swiffer SweeperVac nd the Shark VX3 Floor Cleaner are.  In addition, the Oreck and the Dirt Devil have removable handheld vacuums as well.  The advantage is that vacuums potentially have the power to pick up more debris.  The disadvantages are that this vacuum feature usually creates more weight, and they tend to be more expensive.

For use on carpeting, wood and tile floors

In investigating sweepers it’s important to know whether the sweeper will clean both smooth floors and carpeting.  Obviously the vacuums will do both.  But non-vac sweepers differ in their effectiveness on carpeting.  Those with power-enough motors are versatile especially if they can clean area rugs without trouble.

We have medium pile carpeting, wood floors, tile floors, scatter rugs and carpeted stairs.  Something like the Swivel Sweeper works well on all of these surfaces.

Swivel Sweeper is winner in weight category

For some weight is an important factor in the purchase of a sweeper.  The more lightweight it is, the handier it is for people who have back pain and/or energy problems such as often found with seniors and the disabled.  The sweepers range from the lightest Swivel Sweeper at 2 pounds to 5.8 pounds for the Dirt Devil Quick Flex.  The weight of others are:  about 3.25 lbs. for the SwifferVac, Shark VX3, 4 lbs.; Hoover Sonic Sweeper about 5 lbs.; Oreck, 5.5; and Bissell, 5.6.

Maneuverability of Swivel Sweeper is tops

When you clean a floor with something that moves back and forth, it takes longer and requires more effort. This is where the advantage of a cleaner that swivels comes in.  The Swivel Sweeper moves and cleans in every direction.  The Dirt Devil also advertises a “swivel nozzle.”  Also, remember that the width of the sweeping part determines how much you cover in a single sweep forward or backward.  The wider the sweeper, the more area covered.  However, the width also limits how easily the sweeper will clean between chair legs and whether or not they go into narrow passages.

Some of these sweepers can’t go easily under furniture.  Obviously the sweeper-vacs have the bulk of the vacuum section that requires a greater clearance.  Three sweepers, the Dirt Devil, the Shark and the Swivel Sweeper have a fold-down feature that allows reaching under furniture without any or much bending on your part.

Battery charge

These products are cordless and therefore require batteries for power.  Battery charge lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.  The advertised times are:  30 minutes for the regular Swivel Sweeper; 45 minutes for the Elite model; 50 minutes for the Shark; 60 for the Bissell Perfect Sweep turbo Electric.

Quick cleanups don’t take much time so the length of the battery charge is not crucial for many uses.  But if you are anticipating long cleanups, you definitely need to consider the life of the battery charge.  My Sweeper holds a 45 minute charge and after 10 weeks I’ve re-charged it only twice.

Simple and basic

Now if you want very simple, there are two modified brooms that come to mind. The Swiffer is the best known.  All you do is insert a lining on the pad which you push across the floor.  It cleans on the first pass and works best on smooth floors.  If you have more than dust and fur, you’ll have to gather up the debris.  The other is made especially for pets:  the Scotch fur fighter.  The bristles are modified in such a way to pick up fur better.

Motorized cordless sweepers

Besides the vacuum sweepers described in the first section, most sweepers are motorized to more efficiently sweep debris into the collection chamber.  The Hoover Sonic Sweep features an innovative Sonic Pulse technology plus their motorized brushrollers.  The  Bissell Sweep Up Sweeper has a Dirtlifter brush system.  The Swivel Sweeper has a patented quad brush technology that permits the brush on each of the four sides to collect debris.

Price comparison

The prcies of the models discussed range from about $8 to $99 online.  Here are the best prices I could find online today, 11/16/2011.  The Scotch fur fighter is listed at $7.99 at Target; the Swiffer Startup Kit at $9.98 at Amazon; Shark’s Cordless non-vac sweepers frange from $29.95 to $49.95 at Walmart; Bissell’s sweeper is listed at $37.84 at Walmart; Dirt Devil Quick Flex is currently listed at Walmart and Amazon for online purchase of $47.96; the Hoover Sonic Sweeper, $54.04 at Amazon. The Oreck Hoky (non-vac) Sweep N Go and the 2-in-1 floor vac are both $99 at Amazon.

With the 2-for-1 offer for the Swivel Sweeper, the basic price is $19.99 for each; and $39.99 for each Elite sweeper.

Reviews from unhappy customers

swivel sweeper g2Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews discusses complaints

When you read customer reviews before buying something online you may end up very confused.  It’s no different with customer reviews of the Swivel Sweeper G2.  While there are many more positive reviews, there are a handful of unhappy customers. Below you’ll find some specific complaints and how you might look at them.

Positive and negative reviews of the Swivel Sweeper G2

First remember that people who have a complaint have the energy to write about their experiences.  those who are pleased just go about their lives after a purchase.  They don’t often go online to post a comment unless they are very excited or just like to give their opinions.  From that view the number of positive versus negative reviews about the Swivel Sweeper G2 suggests that most customers are satisfied.

Date of a customer review

It isn’t easy to know how old a customer review is.  When someone is complaining about a product, you don’t know what model they have.  For example, several customers complained about the fragile handle of the Sweeper and how it’s made out of cheap plastic.  I bought mine two months ago.  The handle is made out of a light metal.

Swivel Sweeper g2 models keep improving

A good company especially one that has millions of sales each year cannot continue to sell if they had a poor product.  With the Internet news spreads quickly.  When a company receive the same complaint frequently, doesn’t it make sense for them to correct the problem?  I think so.

Swivel Sweeper Battery complaints

For example, a common complaint was about the battery.  Now instructions that come with the Swivel Sweeper are very clear an detailed about how long the first and subsequent charges should be.  We didn’t find charging it for 12 hours exactly convenient.  But we know how finicky batteries can be.  Some customers may be lax about these details.  And Ontel who makes the Sweeper may have listened to the early complaints and upgraded the battery.

Improper use of this cordless sweeper

Any product can be damaged by improper use.  In this case, the Swivel Sweeper G2 isn’t designed for outdoor use.  Also it’s for dry debris, not wet material.  The Sweeper works best on smooth even surfaces so if you have  thick long pile carpet, it probably won’t do a good job, not to mention possibly damaging the motor.  Also sweeping up long “strings” of thread or hair will mean having to free them from the rollers.  There’s a tool attached to the handle for that purpose.

The Swivel Sweeper G2 isn’t a vacuum

Your needs should match the Swivel Sweeper’s features.  If you’re looking for a mini-vacuum, it’s not for you.  It is not a vacuum but rather closer to a very fancy broom.  If you’re looking for something that will take rough and constant use such as in a warehouse you probably need something more rigid and that doesn’t use a battery.

Customer service complaints:

Most people can complain about customer service, don’t you think?  This is true especially when you the customer don’t get what you want.  I found my call to customer service to be very pleasant.  Here’s a suggestion:  whenever you call and find that you’re not being treated with respect, just hang.  Shouldn’t you do this whenever you deal with a rude unreasonable person?  Try calling at another time.  (Two seconds later counts as “another” time.)

I may not have addressed all of your concerns.  However, there is enough information on this website that should help you make a good buying decision.  And remember a satisfaction guarantee reduces your sense of risk when you purchase below.

Personal Customer Review

by admin on October 19, 2011

personalizing swivel sweeper g2 reviewsAloha.  Now, my personal review of the Swivel Sweeper G2.

When I first learned about this cordless sweeper, I wanted to be objective in writing a review.  Then buying and owning one didn’t seem “objective.”  I admit though that as I saw it on videos I was tempted.  But I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend money on something I didn’t think I needed.

To see what tempted me, view the video by clicking here.

However, as I learned more about the Swivel Sweeper G2, I talked about it to friends.  A common response was:  I could use one of those.  Surprise.  And the deeper I got into my investigation, I could see myself using it.  Then it didn’t make sense to complete a review without trying one.

Inconveniences I put up with in Swivel Sweeper “BC”

Before the sweeper I owned a broom, a dust broom, a shop vac and a Kirby vacuum cleaner.  The first two worked for the kitchen and foyer.  The other two vacuums were heavy and/or cumbersome.  They came out when I really needed deep and thorough cleaning.  What was especially taxing was doing the carpeted stairs because I had to adjust them to take attachments.  More often, however, I’d just lift the heavy sweeper up to each stair.  You can imagine I didn’t do this very often.

Another problem I had was with area rugs.  The suction from the vacuums were so powerful that I couldn’t clean them easily or well.  I called the action–vacuum “inhaling” rugs.  I just put with these inconveniences.

The changes after getting a Swivel Sweeper

What a difference a very light highly maneuverable sweeper made.  Now I don’t hesitate to clean up when daily messes occur.   Such as when leaves are tracked in especially during the fall; the things that end up under the dining table or the kitchen floor because of eating and cooking.  So rather than react to the mess by “Argh,” I respond, “Oh goody, I get to use the Swivel Sweeper.”  What a welcome change.

After I read customer reviews, I could quickly think of many friends and family who could use one.  Especially those with children and/or pets; those who needed light cleaning tools, those who worked where a vacuum wasn’t handy.  For example, my son has two cats who leave behind litterbox granules, fur and food.  Those with children constantly face the little messes any activity creates.

Now some fun experiences with the Swivel Sweeper g2

If I get impatient and hurried, I can easily flip the sweeper part over.  Then the debris gets out and scatters  in an instant.  Oops.  Fortunately, it’s very easy to clean up after the sweeper is righted.  The Swivel Sweeper stores so conveniently because it’s small and folds up smaller than a broom.  Hiding it behind a piece of furniture makes it handy and feels playful.  Because it moves around curves easily, sweeping around table and chair legs without having to pick up anything it’s a delight.

Best used on smooth floors such as our tiled and wooden ones, the Sweeper still works well on our medium pile carpeting.  I can hear the motor working a little harder when going over the carpet but it still works.  And each time I empty the dirt tray, I’m surprised by the amount of debris picked up by the sweeper.

As enthusiastic as I am about the Swivel Sweeper G2, I recognize that it isn’t for everyone.  Just learn as much as you can about it to see whether it may be a solution for you.  And make sure that you have satisfaction guarantee, just in case it doesn’t work out for your situation.

Important when you Buy a Swivel Sweeper G2

by admin on October 7, 2011

swivel sweeper user

It’s Anne writing again about the matter of purchasing a Swivel Sweeper G2.  By now you know enough about this cordless sweeper and are trying to find the best place to purchase one that has the best deal you can strike.

I’ve reviewed all of the options that I can think of when making a product purchase and the concerns I would have.  Hopefully, with your reading in my Swivel Sweeper G2 reviews my investigating and reporting on these options including issues of taxes, shipping, guarantees and best offers, you’ll be able to make the right decision for you.

When you purchase anything, what are you options?  You can go to a nearby store, a specialty store or a “discount” store such as Walmart or Target. Then you have online options with the best known probably being Amazon.com.

What do you consider the best deal?

First, of course, you want to know the base price of the unit.  Then you want to know whether you’ll have to pay taxes, shipping costs.  Second, you may be looking for a better deal such as getting a discount or promotion code, a free trial or a two-for-one offer.

Hopefully, when you are thinking “best” you are also including thoughts of your risk exposure.  That is, is there a guarantee or warranty issued with the purchase of the product?  Further you might be curious about whether there’s customer service available connected to your purchase.

Where to buy a Swivel Sweeper, prices and risk

As of the date I’m posting this information, here is what I found about prices and risk.

  • Walmart:  listed for $39.88; free shipping to store; taxes probably apply; no mention of guarantee
  • Target:  currently does not list the Swivel Sweeper
  • Amazon.com: listed for $33.73; free shipping for items over $25; no mention of guarantee

When you google for promotion or discount codes, you are provided information that discounts or coupons may be available but it’s not apparent if they are.  When you check further, you may be taken directly to the company site.

If you want a review of features, benefits and prices on a wider range of cordless sweepers, go to my most recent post by clicking here.

Warranty or guarantee information

When you buy through the link below, you will receive a 60 day satisfaction guarantee for the regular model, and a 90 day satisfaction guarantee for the Elite Model (that has a stronger motor and longer lasting battery).  The option to upgrade to the Elite model which is $20 more is also given to you as you go through the purchase process.

Currently the best deal when buying the Swivel Sweeper G2 is a two-for-one offer.  So be prepared to give one away as a gift or have someone who also wants one join you in this purchase.  When you buy a Swivel Sweeper with the offer below, you almost match the best you can do with Amazon.  For me what is uncertain with Amazon are the guarantee and customer service.

When you use the site below, you also have the option of paying half of the purchase price immediately and half later.  Also Customer Service is readily available to you.
